Tom Poisson wrote this story, and Fred Pallem (Le Sacre du Tympan) composed most of the music. Actor Lucien Jean-Baptiste (La première étoile) provides the main narration. Most of the instrumentation is centered around strings, which are performed by the BEDRICH quartet.
The story: A little boy will spend his life locked in a closet. The books he reads, the letters he sends via a mysterious mailbox, and the company of his imaginary friend will make him the freest of men despite "the impediments." It's about confinement and, therefore, freedom. In other words: how to be FREE while being constrained. We think of Mandela, Gandhi, or Alexandre Jollien, a philosopher affected by disability, confined within his body. We think of non-democratic regimes or, more simply, of abused childhoods. With imagination and determination as allies, our hero will find fulfillment despite deprivations and shortcomings.
