Frédéric Botton is a legendary songwriter in the heritage of French chanson. In the 60s and 70s, he and Serge Gainsbourg were the ones who made the voices of chanson and cinema sing the most. Frédéric Botton notably wrote the hits "La grande Zoa" for Régine and "Les Pingouins" for Juliette Gréco. He composed for Mireille Darc, Dani, France Gall, Régine, Juliette Gréco, Claudia Cardinale, Annie Girardot, Annie Philippe, Marie Blanche Vergne, Sylvie Vartan, and the film soundtracks "Ensemble c'est tout", "L'un part l'autre reste" and "Camping", including the song "La marche des tongues". Frédéric Botton, close to Françoise Sagan, embodied the values of a certain poetic, literary, dandy and festive Paris. In 2023, the label 29 Music reissued "Le Cabaret de Frédéric Botton", an unreleased album produced for Marie France in the early 2000s. Today, the rare and precious memory of a unique concert at the Bouffes du Nord in June 1996 is released for the first time. Frédéric Botton sings several songs from his 2 studio albums and also covers titles written for his performers such as "Doux oiseaux de jeunesse", originally sung by Juliette Gréco. CD edition with booklet including lyrics and an unreleased preface signed by Françoise Sagan.
