Behind the artist name Le Jardin is Arnaud Laflaquière. More than a passion, music has been a pillar in his life since the age of six. A music lover and multi-instrumentalist, the artist has recorded two albums during his artistic career: Different Rouge in 2019, and Affections in 2020. This year, Le Jardin returns with a third album: Hiding.
While his first two albums focused on French songs performed by a single singer, Hiding is less monochromatic and more vocally varied. Four female voices appear throughout the ten tracks: Nina Johansson, Tyana, Louise Mambell, and Morgane Imbeaud (from the group Cocoon). The productions on this third album are mostly in English, composed between Singapore and Paris from 2019 to 2021, and inspired by Arnaud Laflaquière's many stays in Anglo-Saxon countries. Hiding is at first cheerful in its music, only to reveal deeper and more intimate themes: breakups, childhood, illness, or addiction... the album addresses difficult yet everyday subjects, with a subtly contrasted reflection, between shadow and light.
