After 2 albums, an EP, and prestigious collaborations (Keren Ann, Juliette Armanet, Herman Dune, Gaëtan Roussel), Lewis Evans released his third album, "L'Ascension," in 2022. A native of Liverpool, former frontman of The Lanskies, and adopted Norman, Lewis Evans crafts his intimate songs like so many hits, a science inspired by the songwriting of Leonard Cohen, the epics of Echo and The Bunnymen, or the anthems of Oasis. A delightful and enchanting album recorded in a joyful frenzy with his band during the summer of 2021. And Fred Buchet, his loyal arranger since 2016, once again blended mandolins and acoustic guitars during the 15 days of summer sessions at L'Abbaye. But this time, Lewis, a great fan of the delicate pop of The Divine Comedy and the sixties innovations of The Beatles, Yardbirds, and Kinks, enriched his compositions with audacious textures.
