"Paris - Tahiti", like a dream, emerged from the encounter and close friendship between Mareva Galanter and Helena Noguerra. Helena, like a fairy inspired by the dream life of an unknown paradise, Tahiti, listened to Mareva tell her about her "before" life.
She offered her tailor-made songs. Enchanting, evocative, sweet, and poetic lyrics, as if fallen from the stars. Philippe Eveno, musician and composer, produced the album and composed the music; fresh, elegant, pop, and travel-inspired. Marc Collin, creator of numerous projects where cultures boldly meet and divert, is the producer. With this new album, Mareva Galanter plunges us into her Tahitian origins. The album symbolizes the meeting of the Parisian she has become with the Tahitian she never ceased to be. Polynesia, where she grew up, is full of vibrant sounds: percussion (Toe're), intergenerational choirs (Himene), ancestral nasal flute (Vivo), etc. These traditional sounds, dear to Mareva's heart, are honored in their most authentic form.
Composed of 12 songs, "Paris - Tahiti" is Mareva Galanter's most personal album. Recorded in Paris and then in Tahiti, traditional sounds are present and subtly mixed with a French pop sound. This album is first and foremost a musical exploration. The modernity of the production blends with the immortality of traditions. Bursting with curiosity, this album is a cultural encounter never before achieved. Guitars, bass, drums, keyboards, and vocals were recorded in Paris, at Alphaville studio by Hugo Bracchi. Ukuleles, percussion, drums, nasal flute, and traditional choirs were recorded in Tahiti, at AMSP studio by Jean-Luc Casula, with wooden and bamboo instruments entirely handmade by the musicians themselves.
