Grand Hôtel Apocalypse (which follows Endorphine, released in 2017) is an album of eleven songs composed and recorded solo in his studio over a relatively short period, with the exception of the drums, which were played and recorded in Los Angeles by Norm Block (The Afghan Whigs, Warpaint,..), a Californian rock drummer he met there.
Grand Hôtel Apocalypse is a kind of back-to-basics in the form of a "power trio" (guitar, bass, drums) with the initial watchword: "No pedal"! The instruments go directly into the amps, with no embellishments, no overdubs.
