Glamour, glory, and beauty. Three words that perfectly summarize Hélène in Paris, the new queen of the City of Lights, a phenomenal singer, and a social media icon.
The height of this late and unexpected celebrity? The recording of an album written and composed for her by Bertrand Burgalat, Marc Lavoine and Fabrice Aboulker, Léonard Lasry and Elisa Point. In other words, the crème de la crème of French pop writers and composers gathered around our new star like fairies around a cradle. Titled "Jamais dire jamais" (Never Say Never), this sparkling album reflects its performer: a pure concentrate of pop, happiness, fantasy, humor, chic and shocking Parisianism, and charm with three exclamation marks!!!
After "Ferrari," an explosive first single, the album takes detours with the great moment of tenderness and sweetness that is "Preuves d'amour" (Proofs of Love), a duet between Hélène and Marc Lavoine. It winds towards fantasy tinged with a slight melancholy with "Cocktail 5 étoiles" (5-Star Cocktail), stylishly revisiting the legendary Dim tights music. It soars straight to seventh heaven with "Alors tant pis" (So Be It), an elevator and weightless duet between Hélène and Bertrand, which has the calm pop nonchalance of Lanzmann's hits for Dutronc, only to then inoculate us with the dance virus with "Va t'faire voir au paradis" (Go See Paradise), a pure moment of bliss composed by Burgalat. It takes us on a journey to "Formentera," a beautiful dreamy track co-written and composed by Marc Lavoine and Bertrand Burgalat, veers towards humor with a new duet with Marc Lavoine, "J'te dirai ouais" (I'll Tell You Yeah), goes straight to the purest romanticism in a sublime duet with Léonard Lasry, "De quel côté votre cœur" (Which Side Your Heart), before concluding with her undeniable hit and personal mantra, "Just be you."
Her name is Hélène, and remember her name: she is Hélène in Paris, the one and only.
