"This album features songs I've had in mind for a long time and others that are very recent, such as "FRIDA KAHLO", "Victor Hugo in exile", "See you later (Anne Frank)", "Come" (a holiday memory from the Basque Country). "La Pergola" is a return to my adolescence spent on Île de Ré where, with Olivier Despax, I played the clarinet and he played the guitar. Our idols at the time were Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald. I was fascinated by song, as well as great artists like Charles Trenet, Marcel Mouloudji, Gilbert Bécaud, Charles Aznavour whom I met at Raoul Breton's and with whom I collaborated at the beginning of my career. But also my great friend Barbara, with whom I wrote several songs. The sources of my inspiration are lived moments, and so as not to forget them, Chantal helped me to leave a trace. This is what makes up this very last album." JEAN-JACQUES DEBOUT
