SPECIO is the eponymous project of a studio duo well-known in independent and underground circles, male/female (Nicolas/Sasha), with a rock/noise background (Prohibition for Laureau/Héliogabale for Andrès), now turning towards another (or beyond?) jazz that takes them to a fertile elsewhere, which they had already touched upon in their respective latest projects (Don Nino, NLF3 / A Shape).
It's Sasha Andrès who sings or speaks with her different voices over Nicolas Laureau's sound worlds. The rich album is a series of long, strange and dreamy experiences that form open tracks, intelligently referring listeners to a fertile imagination of parallel or secret universes. Two kinds of temporalities can be distinguished on the album: effective tracks and more meandering titles, both sharing a pronounced concrete dreaminess and the rare angle of surprise.
