Kaïros: a debut album blending dub and techno

With Kaïros, the duo explores the bold idea that techno and dub share common genetic information, while experimenting with unique paths. By uniting these major currents of contemporary music, Twinkle reveals the quintessential elements of their musical DNA. Techno and dub offer a unique experience of so-called "repetitive" music, stemming from the democratization of electronic instruments and home studios. And that's precisely the promise of Twinkle: powerful dub basslines, ethnic sounds, and psychedelic flights. The whole plunges us into a liberating and cathartic trance.

To give meaning to their universe through words, Twinkle surrounds itself with activist and committed singers: Dope Saint Jude, Marcus I, and Abdelillah.

Twinkle: an immersive live experience

Behind the scenes of Twinkle, Aku Fen takes charge of the Computer-Assisted Music (CAM) direction, juggling midi controllers and other synthesizers. Fabasstone, for his part, embodies the analog counterpart of the duo, injecting a dub and organic dimension. He also oversees the sound/light/video interaction, for an immersive experience. The twins are no strangers to this. Pioneers from the late 1990s of the sound/video/light triptych with High Tone, they recently made an impression with the OOYM project, a 360° sound and visual experience broadcast in planetariums in France and Europe. Today, they return with a projection system rarely seen on the amplified music scene, enhanced with light interactions controlled by sound.
