As a DJ member of High Tone, Twelve, with his devastating scratches, is considered primarily responsible for the incursions of traditional and electronic music into the Lyon-based group.

Lionel Dumas, aka Twelve, has been a DJ member of the Lyon-based group High Tone since 1997, with his primary role being sampling and scratching. Using a lot of traditional music from around the world, film soundtracks and dialogues, hip-hop, jazz, and reggae vocals, Twelve makes it a point of honor to give an original and strong color to his performances, where styles intersect and collide. Bass Music, Hip-Hop, Jungle, Dub, Drum & Bass, Abstract… a fresh and personal approach from an influential artist on the Lyon scene. Through this first album, Twelve thus synthesizes all genres by offering a flawless cocktail that delicately catches the ear. The 12 tracks of his first album, titled Perfectly Safe, with their ultra-polished sound, sometimes recall a slightly more agitated but equally meticulous Funki Porcini. His strong tastes, from the most roots dub to steppa, do not hide his love for Hip Hop, Jungle, or Drum and Bass. Perfectly Safe, a rich album that proves Twelve possesses a disconcerting ability to bring a range of traditional music into a world of complex rhythms.
