Following HOW DO YOU SLEEP? (2002), here is AUDIOACTIVISM, a new original compilation from the Jarring Effects label. AUDIO because it brings together a range of renowned artists exploring the dark side of electronic music. ACTIVISM because this work aims to be a tool for disseminating all dissonant or discordant voices. This theme denounces the homogenization of cultures due, among other things, to the omnipresence and enormous influence of mass media. To illustrate this, we offered each artist an internationally recognized sampled phrase: “the revolution will not be televised,” by GIL SCOTT HERON. The result? 12 unreleased tracks, where each artist gives their written and sonic version of the sample. Abstract/electro hip hop is in the spotlight!
