The vinyl edition includes 20 GOLDEN TICKETS to be won, randomly distributed within the production. The GOLDEN TICKET grants VIP access to a Jay-Jay Johanson concert of your choice, with backstage access to meet him in person.
With constantly renewed inspiration, Jay-Jay marks his 15th album with "Backstage". It features the fundamental bases that tirelessly define his musical universe: jazz, trip hop, pop, and sometimes even touches of easy listening.
The first single, the soaring "How Long Do you Think We’re Gonna Last?", introduces a delicious soul music sound, somewhat unprecedented within Jay-Jay’s first 14 albums.
On "Backstage" and for the first time in his discography, Jay-Jay includes a track entirely sung in French and dedicated to Rimbaud. The lyrics are by French writer Renaud Santa Maria.
Already featured on several tracks throughout his discography, Jay-Jay invites his partner Laura Delicata on the catchy "Glue", a track whose progressive strangeness concludes with a "house music" coda.
Finally, Jay-Jay delivers a personal version of "Lujon", the cult song, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of its composer Henry Mancini.
Recorded in Stockholm during the winter of 2024, the album was mastered in Paris by the essential Alex Gopher (Air, Phoenix, Bob Sinclar…).
