Her two previous albums had already highlighted the genius of her guitar playing, her constantly evolving and joyful inspiration, her mastery of instrumental collage and her freedom. This fascinating album, Parle Grand Canard, reveals the less polished side of a discography that is seriously becoming a work of art. Mocke collaborated with arranger Nicolas Worms to create orchestrations for winds, strings, and woodwinds. This close collaboration resulted in landscapes with unexpected contours, a palette of unique, impressionistic colors, at times brutal, but which speak volumes about the underlying mechanisms at play and the aesthetic ambitions.
