Ballaké Sissoko & Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch - Radicants

The encounter between an ancient and ancestral instrument like the Kora in the hands of a virtuoso such as Ballaké Sissoko, and electronics, expanding the instrument's possibilities, as offered by Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch, is the heart of this Radicants project. It is a search for new paths related to immersion, letting go, and new roots. Dynamic, evolving roots capable of supporting others. Respecting the idea of rootedness and precisely knowing how to project it into a kaleidoscopic and multifaceted world. There is therefore no opposition between two worlds – acoustic and electronic, traditional and contemporary, African and Western – but rather acceptance, collaboration, and risk-taking. It is about building a real dialogue between the two musicians in which, if the Kora is the source of everything, the electronics are the development, the resonance, and the form.
