In 2004, near Aix-en-Provence, a group of self-taught and passionate friends had the strange idea of founding an independent vinyl label, at a time when no one was buying them anymore.
A crazy idea, indeed, but one that, from LPs to animated clips and then live concerts, eventually gave birth to a wild adventure whose 20th anniversary we are celebrating today.
To celebrate this anniversary properly, the label has compiled two decades of music into a 4-vinyl box set, featuring 40 iconic CMR tracks.
Chinese Man Records is a story of ups and downs, great joys and less happy moments... But what will remain over time is all this music, all these records: 20 years of independence summarized in one box set.
