Glass Coat is the solo project of a Parisian producer who has lived in Copenhagen, Atlanta, Seattle, and Taipei, and is now based in Shanghai. Originally inspired by 90s electro (the Warp label, with Autechre and Aphex Twin), the trip hop of Massive Attack and Tricky, and Scandinavian electro (The Knife, Trentemoller, Royksopp), the project has evolved over the course of its EPs towards more experimental music, based on drones, recovered and reorganized sounds, and digital files reprocessed through analog machines.
