Anyone who has seen them, Mounia and Areski, on Rue Saint-Louis-en-l'Île or elsewhere, he with his eternal small hat, she with her newsboy cap, quickly grasps the nature of their bond.

Between the actress-author and the legendary composer, the sun has been shining for a long time. "Areski and I have been fraternizing for a few years, we can say we're celebrating our decade," she smiles between two rolled cigarettes, "and even more, since we met in 2013. And it was almost halfway through this relationship that I approached him for a joint project to nurture our friendship and make it grow. I felt we needed to work together. I proposed a show that was both theatrical and musical, for which he would compose all the music. That resulted in Les Mômes Porteurs, and this album is its soundtrack, or rather it was conceived and dreamt as a sound film."

Nevertheless, after twenty-three albums, the majority with his wife and accomplice Brigitte Fontaine, the score that Areski delivers here is once again particularly inspired. He himself rightly recognizes its "rock, trance, and uppercut dimension."

The musicians, including the aptly named Dondieu Divin on piano and violin, and of course Areski's percussion, accompany and respond to the young woman's world, which she had already powerfully revealed with Le dernier jour où j'étais petite, a poetic manifesto brought to the stage. It features her unique way of kneading language...
